My painting practice is rooted in material and process; the possibilities and limitations of acrylics, masking tape and wood inform content. In the digital realm, I work within parallels between technology and fungal growth. Computer code, like the hyphal tips of mycelium, relies on replication to create forms that have no visual resemblance to their parts. The art is built Photoshop manipulations of my paintings I build up these images by applying fungal "behaviors:" Decay, stretching, and shrinking--to feed an unplanned yet purposeful growth--then symbiosis, and fruiting. Each artwork is this series is one stage in an ongoing transformation.
