One in a series of paintings inspired by a cluster of blooming Huisache trees in an empty lot of my friend's South Austin neighborhood. We walked by there regularly while the trees were blooming because we knew the lot had been purchased for development and that this would be their last spring. In my painting I focused on the joy they brought to me, the intense colors, the fragrance and the opportunity for sharing time with my friend.
