When I moved into a studio space behind my house, the 20-yard walk from my kitchen to studio door created a new rhythm in my work life. When there was time for morning painting, I had to pause in the yard and notice the oranges, yellows and gold tones of the light. The light made its way into the work, radiating the sparkling energy of a new day.
