Inspired by a narrative close to my heart, this piece explores the personal experience of existence in a complex, unpredictable world.
In the beginning of 2023, I endured invasive surgery on my dominant wrist, leaving me without use of my right hand for most of the year. This sent me into a spiral of depression over my purpose of existence, and unable to express myself in the way I knew how. The creation of this work began as an attempt to learn to use my non-dominant hand, and eventually, to relearn how to use my right hand. Despite declaring the project scrapped multiple times out of frustration, I continued to come back to this piece, as it provided me a sense of catharsis. Through this work, I have realized that I truly never want to stop creating, regardless of what impedes my path.
