This painting is titled "The First Sin" with a subtitle "The Curse of The Womankind".
The theme is painting is based on the Bible story of “The First Sin” which is always associated with Adam and Eve and the Fall in the Garden of Eden. However I did not want to just paint that scene as an illustration to the story because that is not what really inspired me to create this painting. I wanted to portrait Eve as a human being – because that’s how she was created. I also wanted to look at Eve from the woman’s point of view and see her as the representation of the womankind and what were (and still are) the consequences of her “sin” – at least in minds of some people and in subconscious minds of some others. I wanted to explore what Eve action did to the womankind.
So, what was really Eve’s sin? Was it just disobedience by eating the forbidden fruit? Well, that was just the actual physical action which brought the great deal of God’s anger and curse on her, Adam and consequently on the humankind. But what really “made” Eve to do something which was forbidden but what was promising her to gain knowledge?
