I used a cornucopia of references here, beginning with photographs from one of my self-performances and layering cranberry, breast, fish netting, eggs, and a crustacean—each signaling acts of harvest or harnessing, fertility, and eroticism. It served as the key piece for my solo show “A Sense of Heat in Her Brain,” a title drawn from the first written description of a female orgasm.
