This video depicts the healing stages of my post top surgery chest reconstruction. The incisions go from armpit to armpit with a small bridge in the center of my chest. It took many months to be able to lift my arms, and even more months to be able to lift things again. Each upward moment shares a glimpse into a week of recovery to counteract the stillness that I felt for so long.

I created this video two years after the surgery as an act of care for my body instead of pushing myself to get the video in the moment. If nothing else, I hope that the care and love for the strength of what my physical body continues to endure will find itself present.
