The Old Supreme Court Building Chinese: 舊最高法院大樓, also called the Legislative Council Building (立法會大樓/立法局大樓), was built in 1912.. It is located on the other side of Des Voeux Road facing HongKong bank and Old bank of China, represent the core values of Hong Kong , Justice and democracy.
If he new HongKong Bank building is seen as the last parade of British power in Hong Kong since the first establishment of Hong Kong bank in 1864 at One Queen’s Road Central, the lions which are the historical guardians of the Des Voeux Road entrance of the previous Bank headquarter since 1935, represent the Hong Kong British colonial elite group and Pan-democracy camp(泛民主派, 民主派 ). Although the old bank of China building lion statuses sitting at the entrances were also there on the same road since 1950, had been overshadowed by Hong Kong bank pairs, they represent the pro Beijing and pro -establishment(Chinese: 親北京派; 建制派) camp.
My painting was consisted of three objects stated as above, a symbolic theme about the opposite groups in our conflicting Hong Kong society towards the year of 2017 The Chief Executive of Hong Kong (Chinese: 香港行政長官) election
