Communion was a video performance where Alan Powell attempted to stand still for 24 hrs while being filmed by a video time lapse camera and 1/2" eiaj timelapse videotape recorder borrowed from a local bank. The piece was performed at the AnyArt Gallery in the fall of 1977 (Oct 8, 1977). The artist, Alan Powell , attempted to stand still in one spot for 24 hrs. Thevideo condensed the 24 hours to a one hour B&W videotape. At the end of 24 hrs a breakfast was held for the community. It was part of the artist's investigastion of both time and self-portraiture over long periods of time.
