There is no up or down in this exploration of Libido, which Carl Jung understood as “psychic energy: desire, will, interest, and passion” (credit to www.thisjungianlife.com for the definition - and a fine podcast about all things Jungian). In Jung’s thinking libido engages much more than just the sexual or reproductive energies. In this painting I’m centering humans’ libidinal energy in the animal world while acknowledging our responsibility now that we’ve taken that world into our own hands. In each of us Adam and Eve remain powerful.
