Honey Brown Ale

The goal for this still life was to paint a collection of objects that are transparent, or translucent, and maybe even transmit colour. I chose a sheet of wrinkled parchment paper embracing a bottle of beer illuminated by a desk lamp in close proximity. (Full disclosure: despite the title, the model in this painting is actually a bottle of Sleeman’s Silver Creek, not Honey Brown).
