MessageStatement
I am an Alaskan Native Inupiaq Eskimo born in Anchorage, Alaska.
My paintings come from childhood memories of my family, who come from Unalakleet (Grandfather), White Mountain (Mother) Amy Eben-Paris, and Shaktoolik (Grandmother). My grandparents were Wayne & Sarah Eben, from the village of Unalakleet, Alaska.
I remember stories that they would tell, with smiles on their faces and most of the time, with laughter. I loved how they were always so simple and so happy doing things with their hands to keep them busy and creative. Watching them as a little girl, it was as if magic were being created right before my eyes. I am proud to share that magic with you.
It is my hope that my art emanates joy and peace to you, while expressing the vibrant Spirit and Atmosphere of Alaska. I like to mix watercolors, acrylics, and inks to create bright abstract pieces. I am self-taught, and use the beautiful Alaskan Environment & My Culture as my Muse.
I hope that you are able to feel the Spirit of Alaska thru my art, and that it might even bring back great memories of Alaska and our Inupiaq traditions. I am excited for you to join me on this wonderful journey! Let’s experience the magic of Alaska together!
Quyana! (Thank you!)
Warmly,
