I am a cartographer of sorts, charting the emotional topographies of the human experience. The temporal structures which I build in the landscape become visual portals. Connectors both to the land and to the journey, they are meditations upon the nature of impermanence and the cyclical pattern of all things. I made these two pictures during my AIRIE residency in 2013 where I began Marjory's World. Untitled 56 was made during the very first shoot of the series, at sunrise as the fields turn to gold.
