My pieces are influenced by and pay homage to the geometric and storytelling qualities of Americana quilts and how they can pass down skills and stories in families, from generation to generation. One of the common themes across all my work is that it is all pattern driven. The definition of quilting is to stitch, sew, and design with one's own two hands. My work tries to translate the movement of color and design, combining ideas from the traditional art of quilting and contemporary art into my own personal geometric, organic, three-dimensional art.
