Meet Jean Shin, New York–based artist and AIRIE.Foundation January 2026 Fellow.

Jean’s practice centers on large-scale installations that examine overconsumption and its environmental and social consequences. Her work begins with research and site visits, grounded in fieldwork, observation, and deep conversations with people who know a place through lived experience.

During her residency, Jean is immersing herself in the Everglades to trace histories that are often overlooked, connecting material use, labor, and community to broader ecological systems.
