- Moving through the landscape, 2025
- Video
New Renaissance artist The Honourable Elizabeth A. Baker joins AIRIE.Foundation as the December 2025 Fellow. Her practice is grounded in experimental sound and a deep attention to place, shaped by how environments influence artistic process and perception.
During her residency, Elizabeth is exploring how changes in the land’s energy and presence inform her work, especially her relationship with trees and the sensory experience of moving through the landscape. Her reflections connect to AIRIE’s 25-year milestone, which she sees as a significant achievement for an organization engaged with questions of care, stewardship, and environment.
As a Florida native, she offers a perspective on sound that invites greater awareness of how human activity affects native soundscapes. She encourages future participants to consider the sonic ecology of the spaces they enter and to create work with the environment, not over it.
