Coco Villa is a Jamaican-Colombian-American dancer, interdisciplinary artist, and educator from Queens, NY. They studied Photography and Holistic Health at Lesley College of Art and Design then continued studies in dance and somatic movement at Tanzfabrik Berlin, American Dance Therapy Association, and Casa Cultural Cartagena. Villa has participated in residencies with Pocoapoco, KinoSaito, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and Township10. They’ve performed at MOMA (2024), Performance Space New York (2024), Marigny Opera House (2024), The Brooklyn Museum (2023), and Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (2019). While Villa primarily works with analog photography and dance, they lead an interdisciplinary practice investigating relations between body, object, and landscape.
