Pudding Lane (b. 1953) x
Gillian works under the nom de plume of Pudding Lane. Why Pudding Lane, well Gillian says "maybe it's because I'm a Londoner, far from home. The Fire of London started in a bakery in Pudding Lane and the name brings me home. The fire, although catastrophic, wiped the slate clean for London to be built again, better and more beautiful. Every cloud has a silver lining and the only constant in the universe is change".
Gillian began her art training with a Foundation course in 1971, at Hornsey Art Collage, London, followed by training as an Art Teacher at Philippa Fawcett College, London. Gillian’s art has always been an expression of spirit/soul and has woven this into many aspects of spirituality, meditation and healing. She consolidated her philosophical learning by undertaking a B. Phil Ed research degree at Westminster College, Oxford and later at the Steiner College of Therapeutic Art in West Sussex. It was here that Gillian adopted the use of water colour for the first time and has developed this further throughout the following years.
Gillian moved to Scotland in 2018 and is now Angus based.
