Artist: Daniel Gordon (American, b. 1980)
Daniel Gordon is known for photography and sculpture that employs appropriation and reproduction in order to question the nature of the image-object relationship. Melding optical illusion, pastiche, mixed media, and a recalibration of analog processes, the artist consciously reframes what it means to have a photographic practice. Based in Brooklyn, New York, he has presented solo exhibitions at venues that include Kasmin, New York, NY; Huxley-Parlour Gallery, London, United Kingdom; James Fuentes Gallery, New York, NY; and M+B, Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, his works reside in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY; Foam, Amsterdam, Netherlands; and the VandenBroek Foundation, Lisse, Netherlands; among others.
