Artist: Priya Gore
About Artist:
Priya Gore is a contemporary wildlife and nature artist whose vivid, expressive paintings of birds and wild landscapes pulse with energy, colour, and movement. Her work is inspired by the intricate rhythms of the natural world and the powerful sense of connection she feels with Australia’s rainforests, coastlines, and native fauna. Often working on large canvases, Priya describes her process as a “joyous dance,” where each brushstroke becomes a gesture of life, freedom, and reverence for the wilderness.
Born into a large joint family in a small village in India, Priya is the 18th of 28 cousins and the daughter of two doctors. Despite cultural expectations to pursue a career in medicine or engineering, she forged her own path. After completing a Master's in Telecommunications Systems Design Engineering in Chicago, she moved to Australia and rose to prominence in the engineering field. Her accomplishments include designing complex wireless networks for national infrastructure projects and becoming a top 5 finalist in the 2020 Women in Engineering Achievement in Technological Innovation awards in Australia.
Throughout her technical career, Priya’s passion for art remained steadfast. Inspired by the breathtaking biodiversity of the Australian wilderness, she began painting more seriously—initially sketching at parks and beaches, eventually turning her practice into a full-time career. Today, her art is an ongoing exploration of nature's spiritual and emotional impact on human wellbeing.
In 2023, her piece "Love. Light. Wren.” received the 3rd Place Award in the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation's Artist of the Year competition, drawing over 1,500 public votes and being exhibited at Mall Galleries, London.
Priya’s work has garnered global recognition. She was featured on 26 international TV channels in Season 23, Episode 9 of Colour in Your Life, a documentary series that will be archived on the Moon in 2025 as part of the Lunar Codex project. Her paintings are held in both private and public collections worldwide, including a permanent display at Bankstown North Public School in Sydney. She is represented by the iconic Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson, Arizona, alongside master artists such as Bill Anton and Mark Maggiore.
Priya started exploring Southeast Asia along with her family since 2023. They explored Bali and further Indonesia in 2023. They lived across Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam for a stretch of 6 months in 2024. Based in Australia, Priya believes “the world is her oyster - she has power to create any part of the world she lives in, beyond the borders”. Priya continues to paint from a place of deep connection—to nature, to family, to motherhood and to the creative spirit within. Her work reflects a journey of transformation, courage, and vibrant storytelling.
> “All my paintings carry a dash of wilderness—whether experienced first-hand or imagined through the soul’s yearning to be free.”
