Artist: Kayoko Kimura
Kayoko Kimura is a Japanese artist who produces works focusing on universal themes such as the universe, time and life - by switching the focus from macro to micro and repeating the process of inter similarity.
“What is this world? In other words, what is life?”
Art production is a journey to find the answer to Kimura's question. The practice of creation is her continuous search for the answer. Her initial works before 2010 were mainly created and inspired by the energy of pencil, Japanese washi and photographs. Since 2011, she focused on “drawing” the action, by inserting the energy of her very own life to every single brush she put into the work, exploring the life cycle. Flower blossoms is one of the major subjects in most of her drawings to depict the beauty of life.
