Fumiko Toda is a Japanese artist with more than 20 years of experience. Growing up in the rural Japanese countryside, she was surrounded by nature and biodiversity, which are the key focuses in her paintings today. After attending Art and Design University in Kyoto, Toda moved to New York City, where her art became influenced by the urban experience and showcased how metropolitan living tends toward disconnection.
“I am obsessively fascinated with colour, texture, textile design, and form, although most of the images and inspiration I find for art are drawn from my childhood background".
