  • Artist: Death NYC

Death NYC is a street artist from New York. Being exposed to a variety of cultures, she questioned the things she saw on the street. This experience is vital in the choice of her pseudonym and approach. Death prefers to remain anonymous as this way she can keep her freedom to work in the street. Initially, Death used to paint on walls and floors of mainstream stores of the Soho and Chelsea quarter. Her pseudonym is an acronym of "Don't Easily Abandon The Hope". In her work, Death mocks the media, by distorting the images of the popular culture. One of her most famous works is Mao Zedong’s representation with a pink bow in his hair and pink lipstick.
