Artist: Chainarong Lerdsirabavonchai (SOS) (b. 1975)
Chainarong Lerdsirabavonchai also known by his artistic alias SOS, is an innovative Thai pop artist based in Bangkok. His works are a dynamic fusion of mixed media, often combining elements of acrylic painting, collage, and photography. This diverse approach allows SOS to create layered, textured pieces that offer rich visual experiences.
SOS draws inspiration from the bold, graphic qualities of comic figures and the vivid colors of Pop Art, a movement known for its embrace of popular culture and consumerism. His passion for these comic figures is evident in the way he incorporates iconic, cartoonish imagery and pop culture references into his artwork, often transforming them into larger-than-life representations of modern society.
