Abstraction holds an unlimited amount of creativity, ideas, and meaning. Abstraction gives me the ability to express my feelings through bending my medium and utilizing everything around me. Looking at my work differently was the key to my improvement and opened so much of my potential. My art is inspired by playing with different colors of acrylic paint and playing with the “norms” of art such as using thicker applications, mimicking and implementing many other styles into my own, and creating new work. I’m heavily inspired by artists that use the mindset of looking at their work constructively but also free-mindedly. Hans Hoffman, Jeremy Mann, Curtis Verdun, Tim Harney, and my AFH mentor, Jameel Radcliffe, are just a few examples of great artists that built the person I am today.
