While this piece wasn’t specifically created for the Portrait Project exhibition, it’s an example of inspiration. Inspired by pop art illustrative styles and important figures of history. Martin Luther King graduated from Boston University’s School of Theology in 1955 with a Ph.D. He then returned to Boston in April 1965 to lead a massive civil rights march protesting de facto segregation in Boston’s public schools, housing, and job markets. MLK has inspired generations of youth and continues to be a beacon of peace and hope for future generations.
