This question that guided this piece was “I wonder what would happen if I embroidered a subject on a painting”. I choose ladybugs as my subject because I feel that they both represent the resilience and beauty of nature. The type of embroidery I used on the ladybug is called “thread painting” which involves embroidering with many intermediate colors at the same time to create shading and the illusion of depth.
