Plate, 9 inches inches diameter. Blue transfer. Printed maker's mark for Winkle & Wood. The Rd. No. indicates a pattern registration date of 1886. The pattern consists of a central circle composed of floral sheet pattern of stylized flowerheads and diamonds, bordered by a wide band of repeated vertical impressed ridges, and another wide band of the same floral sheet pattern.
In 1888 Winkle and Wood jointly opened the Colonial Pottery Works in Fenton, however in 1890 the Colonial Pottery was continued as F. Winkle and Wood continued at the Pearl Pottery Works.
