Butter pat, 2.75 x 2.75 inches. Brown transfer with polychrome clobbering and gilding. This pattern features a blooming morning glory vine and wild grasses with a songbird perched on top.
Alfred Meakin Ltd. was set up in 1875 and operated from the Royal Albert, Victoria, and Highgate Potteries in Tunstall. The Royal Albert Works were established in 1881 and were formerly occupied by Turner & Tompkinson. Meakin died in January 1902.
