Pitcher, 8 x 5.25 inches. Black transfer with polychrome clobbering. This pattern features two separate images on either side of the pitcher. The larger image consists of two cartouches laid over a fan with a wooden handle and a ring with a geometric design. The circular cartouche features an image of a small castle on a cliff's edge overlooking the water. The rhomboid cartouche features an image of two songbirds in flight. This entire cluster of shapes is superimposed over a branch of hazelnuts and leaves. The opposite side of the pitcher features a much smaller motif consisting of a hazelnut branch with two overlapping cartouches, both filled with geometric designs.
