Plate, 9.6 inches diameter. Brown transfer with polychrome clobbering. Printed maker's mark for James Gildea. Pattern number "B7405" painted in red. This floral Aesthetic pattern features two groupings of flowers. The bottom of the plate has a grouping of violets, primroses, and ferns. At top is a branch of blooming hawthorn.
In 1878 James Gildea joined the partnership of Bates and Walker. In 1881 Bates left the partnership and Gildea & Walker continued together. In 1885 Gildea continued the business alone. Around 1887 the business was carried on as Keeling & Co.
