Plate, 10.5 inches diameter. Blue transfer. Printed and impressed maker's marks for Gildea & Walker. The registry diamond dates the pattern registration to 21 November 1882. The impressed "88" indicates a production date of 1888. This lovely pattern features a central image of three layers. The bottom layer consists of a circular cartouche filled with spirals. The middle layer consists of stems of lush lily blossoms and buds. The top layer consists of a rectangular cartouche filled with an image of a young woman in chemise and bonnet with a staff in hand, crossing a creek on stepping stones with recumbent sheep in the background. The wide border consists of a wide band of spirals laid under stems of lily blossoms alternating with half-circles filled with geometric patterns.
