'Sisir' is a Malay word, which means to move along the edges. A Malay proverb says "kalau takut dilambung ombak, jangan berumah di tepi pantai". That means to say "If you are afraid of being hit by the waves, do not live by the beach". It is all about taking risk. This painting just came out after I had been traumatised with my previous attempt to slightly blend and/or unblend the two contrast colours on a canvas using a palette knife. It took a while before I decided to hold the same tool, express my brave intuition and surrender to the outcome.
