These onions were destined for dinner but they were determined to sprout. You've got to respect their determination and grit. I come from a legacy of painters. Grandma on the Farm was a painter. When my aunts and uncle saw this painting they proclaimed their nostalgia for all the times Grandma stopped canning to do a pencil sketch of a wayward peach found in the pile with the leaf still attached. I guess we both love the vitality it represents!
