This piece is about barriers and transcendence. As icy comets travel close to a sun they begin to release gasses that create a visible “atmosphere” which is called the coma. As we travel through time we inevitably change and affect change in the objects around us. The coma represents the moment of transition between the icy nucleus of a comet and the hotter gasses it is releasing to the space around it. The exchange of materials that results from crossing this barrier from a protected center to an external environment is a universal process.
