This small piece is a study of geometry and movement. Being that my work is grounded in an architectural context, I always start of the composition like It was a building or site plan. I start laying out the spaces in positive and negative voids. Those voids take on life and color and pattern.

In this particular piece I started with a black background which is a void, and started adding mass. Overlapping drawing with pastels and painting, the subject matter can be seen as architectural and also brings to mind the view of an agricultural landscape from above. The paradox of home or away.
