Traces in stone is part of the "Topographies" series. Pieces of weathered wood form the relief patterns and hint at the action of sun, wind and rain. Upon close inspection are revealed fragments of flint and obsidian, the remnants of stone tools. In my mind this is the symbolic "trace" that connects all humans together. This most basic act of fracturing stone to make tools, has set us on the course to our hyper-technological present day.
