The bowls are made on the plain of the Sepik River by Tshuosh (Sawos), and are hand built by the women using the coiling technique. Although heavily abstracted, the designs applied to these pots represent specific elements of the natural world.

-From the Sawos people in East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea
-Constructed by coiling method by women, incised by men
-Food bowls
-Found throughout the middle Sepik river region-traded to neighboring villages
