Though not abstraction, the free form collection of flowers and patterns follow the methods of my previous microdrawings. The drawing grows organically, intuitively with perhaps only one guiding thought. I ask my adoptees what their mother's favorite flower is or was. The flower is a symbol of reproduction and the golden baby is part of that cycle of desire. The Lily of the Valley was a popular flower among Christians during the 70's. This baby grew up and was recently ordained as a Daoist Priestess, this knowledge was certainly at the back of my mind during the drawing.
