This painting is part of the latticework series. Many of the images and figures are purposely left ambiguous so that the viewer can develop their own narrative based on the meanings of the symbols of images for them. The ambiguity also allows for images to have more that one meaning, and to reflect the multiple facets of human nature.

“The Guitar” is painted with a background of warm and cool watercolor washes; set against this background are the musicians and the guitar at the center as symbols of creativity and its connection to the world of individuals each in their own universe in the orbs. While the figures in the boat below (bottom left) may be disconnected from beauty if they cannot share in this creativity.
