Ceramic wall hanging sculpture with painted designs in underglaze with added lava glaze;
This blue, wrote and gold striped, geometric ceramic wall hanging by sculptor Brian Bosworth uses simplistic color and pattern. Along side the three-dimension form, which create an illusion that challenges the viewer's perspective, the minimalist use of color partners well with the angular shape of the piece, which projects from the wall. Bosworth's emphasis on minimalist aesthetic is found in both the raw material of ceramic as well as the purity of the abstract form.
Bosworth is based in both Joshua Tree, California and Oklahoma City and works under the name BKB Ceramics. He draws inspiration from mid-century design, favoring components of brutalism and minimalism in his work. His work aims to bridge the gap between art and architecture, finding profound depth in simplistic beauty.
