This is a mixed media piece. A contour hand was drawn on rice paper and incorporated into the encaustic. Layers and layers of wax created the interesting texture in the background. Near the end of the process oil pastels were used to highlight the hand. And the whole piece was rubbed with yellow oil stick to bring out the highlights of the wax.
