Schoodic Peninsula, Maine: With the beautiful landscapes of Acadia National Park and Schoodic Peninsula as inspiration, artist Philip Frey presents a workshop for dedicated painters with intermediate and advanced skills. Students will receive pivotal lessons designed to further develop their skill and clarify their artistic vision as a painter. Daily one-on-one instruction and group critique will challenge experienced painters artistically and help open doors to creating authentic work.
While enjoying the exhilarating Maine coast, students should be able to participate in moderate walking on uneven ground while carrying painting gear and be prepared for unpredictable Maine weather. In the case of rain, class will be held indoors or under cover outside. Frey will be painting in oil but has experience with acrylic, watercolor and dry media.
The workshop is hosted by Schoodic Institute and fees include choices of meals and lodging. The Commuter base package is $795 and includes some meals, while the Residential enhanced package includes lodging and additional meals for $1195.
Experience in plein air painting and good drawing skills at the intermediate or advanced level are required of students. An application and image submissions will be required for admission to the workshop. Applicants will be emailed within 5 days of submission and, if accepted, will receive a link for registration and further details. Students may find more information and apply at: https://schoodicinstitute.org/event/the-elemental-landscape-plein-air-painting-with-phil-frey/
Workshop is limited to 12 students.
