The International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA) announces the call for entry for its 30th Annual Juried Open Exhibition, entitled “INNOVATIONS”.
The call for entry period opens March 1, 2021 and closes March 31, 2021. ISEA is pleased to offer approximately $15,000 USD in prizes, including a $2,000 Best of Show award. This year the exhibit may include up to 90 works including 2D, 3D, small installations and video.
“INNOVATIONS” will be curated at Mission Point Resort on beautiful Mackinac Island, Michigan, USA from September 6 through October 24, 2021. In conjunction with the exhibit, the 30th Annual ISEA Symposium, titled "Mackinac Island 2021 – 30 Years of Art Innovation", will be held September 19 through 24, 2021, also at Mission Point Resort.
The International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA), a global non-profit organization with an annual membership of over 500 professional artists, founded in 1991 to offer artists a society that celebrates the creation of art through innovation and experimentation. The society encourages artists to experiment with new techniques, develop new compositional approaches, and explore new concepts – with no rules to limit creativity.
Determining acceptance into “INNOVATIONS” are distinguished jurors Elizabeth and Neil Ahrens; Brian Schorn will be selecting awards from the accepted exhibition works. Elizabeth Ahrens is Executive Director of the American Impressionist Society. Neil Ahrens is a professional artist and gallery owner. Brian Shorn is also a professional artist and gallery owner.
Shipping fees are the responsibility of the artist. To allow for works to be shipped in reinforced envelopes or tubes, reducing costs for participants, ISEA is pleased to accept unframed and un-stretched 2D works in this exhibition. Unframed and un-stretched works will be hung by tacking them to the gallery wall. All works must be finished professionally whether framed, stretched, presented in a matte, or not. Tacking may result in visible holes in the support.
