The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program awards rent-free, private studios to 17 visual artists for year-long residencies with the mission to provide working studio space and community for artists. Our studios are located at 20 Jay Street in Brooklyn, NY in the robust arts community of DUMBO.

The 2020-2021 Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program residency period will last from September 2020 through August 2021, with an open studios weekend held in the spring of 2021.

The program is open to professional visual artists, 21 years or older who are US citizens, Permanent Residents, or visa holders. Artists are selected annually based on merit from a competitive pool of applicants by a professional jury comprised of artists and members of the SWSP Artists Advisory Committee. We look forward to welcoming artists from across the United States to our studios this fall.

The application for the 2020-2021 Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program residency will be live January 1, 2020. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2020, 11:59PM EST.
