3rd Annual Black & White Art Competition

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists are invited to submit their best art and photography using Black and White and the nuanced shades in between. Hidden Talents Fine Art Exhibition 2019

Hidden Talents is an art exhibition displaying the work of artists from across the UK. We are looking for artists who work in paints, mirrors, lights, metal, installation, animation and artists who love to work with vibrant colours.

Sonic Arts, Emerging Artist Exhibition Award

The Auxiliary Project Space is seeking six proposals for three-week exhibitions to occur between May 2019 and May 2020. Artists on the fringes and cross sections of artistic disciplines are highly encouraged to submit. Proposals that are experimental, challenging and involve a high level of artistic risk-taking are also highly encouraged. Work may be either already completed, work in progress or proposed work.

San Diego Watercolor Society’s 39th International Exhibition

The San Diego Watercolor Society announces its Call for Entries for the 39th International Exhibition. The San Diego Watercolor Society was established in 1965 and is one of the largest and most active in the United States. For over three decades, the International Exhibition has been one of the highlights of the year for SDWS and attracts entries from hundreds of water-media artists worldwide.

Ox-Bow Fall Artists and Writers Residency

The Ox-Bow’s Fall Residency is designed for artists and writers at many different points in their careers. This residency is an incredible opportunity for emerging artists looking to launch their career with the help of dedicated time, access to resources and mentorship. The fall residency offers a wider variety of studios that can be used for artists of different mediums to collaborate.

AADK Spain

AADK Spain is an international artistic platform that opens up spaces for research and contemporary creation. With a focus set on experimental and creative processes, its primary interest is to explore the notions of body, territory, and spatiality through an interdisciplinary approach. In the current open call, they will prioritize proposals focused on working on the landscape.

PRAKSIS

PRAKSIS aims to provide an open, supportive residency environment without charge for local, national and international artists, makers and thinkers. Its projected residency programme aims to bring experienced and emerging artists together in dialogue. They expect no specific production based outcome but hope that the residencies are fruitful in terms of reflection, research, and in forging long-term links between PRAKSIS participants and existing creative communities in Oslo and Norway.

Can Serrat—Art Residency

CAN SERRAT is located in El Bruc, at the foot of Montserrat and only 45 km from Barcelona. This center was founded in 1989 by a group of 11 Norwegian artists. It has several spaces/workshops and a beautiful natural environment.

Carpenter's Wharf Studios Residency

Artists of all mediums and experience are invited to apply to 3 month + residencies at the Roach Road studio space. With no cost to the artist, selected finalists of the submission process will have full access to one of eight new spaces overlooking the River Lee canal. There will be fantastic opportunities for the artist to expand their network and creative potential.

L’AiR Arts Residency

L’AiR Arts is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support intercultural and artistic exchange by providing international artist residency opportunities. The residency not only provides the opportunity to explore Paris and have space in which to comfortably stay and work, but it also offers an insider’s view into the important role that international artists have played in Paris from the late 19th century to the present day.

The Watermill Center Residency

The Watermill Center is a laboratory of inspiration and performance, founded by theater and visual artist Robert Wilson, which provides a unique environment for a global community of emerging and established artists and thinkers to gather and explore new ideas together.

Art Quarter Budapest’s International Artist-in-Residence Program

Art Quarter Budapest offers varied services to integrate their residents into the local art scene and assist in establishing professional connections that best support their work and career. AQB personnel provide assistance through the program, catering to practical needs related to life in Budapest, to obtaining the necessary materials, equipment and more. All entering participants are offered a fully furnished room within a communal apartment located on the AQB premises, as well as a studio space catering to the project’s requirements.

The John Ruskin Prize 2019

The John Ruskin Prize 2019 is now open for entries and invites artists, designers and makers at all stages of their careers, currently resident, working or studying in the UK to submit work in response to the theme: Agent of Change. As a multidisciplinary prize, creative practitioners working across and within a range of disciplines are encouraged to apply.

The Salt Spring National Art Prize

The Salt Spring National Art Prize is a biennial competition and exhibition of Canadian visual art, as well as one of Canada’s largest visual art prizes. The intent of SSNAP is to encourage artists whose practice demonstrates originality, quality, integrity and creativity—resulting in significant work with visual impact and depth of meaning.

AMOUNT: over $40,000 in ten different awards

DATES: Exhibition: September 21 - October 21, 2019; Gala Awards Night: October 19, 2019

FINE PRINT: Approximately 50 finalists will be selected by an independent jury of four from across Canada to participate in the Finalists’ Exhibition.
