Regional Arts & Culture Council Grants
RACC supports the region’s vital arts and culture community through a variety of grant programs. The Professional Development Grant Program supports individual artists and representatives of arts organizations with funding up to $2,000 toward distinct opportunities that will push forward their creative practice or skill development. RACC’s Project Grant Program provides financial support to individual artists and not-for-profit organizations for project based arts programming. Grants are awarded up to $7,000 and are available in three categories: Artistic Focus, Arts Equity & Access, and Catalyst.

$500 Grant for Visual Artists
Artist Grant provides a grant to one visual artist each grant cycle. Visual artists working in the following media may apply: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture (of any type of material), ceramics, mixed/multiple media, installation, and other new or alternative media.

Artadia Awards
Artadia is a national non-profit organization that supports visual artists with unrestricted, merit-based awards and fosters connections to a network of opportunities. In the past 18 years, Artadia has awarded over $3 million to more than 300 artists throughout its participating award cities of Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.

AMOUNT: Ranges between $5000 to $20,000, plus ongoing assistance through the lifetime of your career.

NSS Grants for Sculptors
For more than 120 years, the National Sculpture Society has created, exhibited, collected and supported the evolving tradition in American sculpture. NSS continues to support sculpture today as an active, vital, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. They offer a number of grants annually, including The Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant, The Alex J. Ettl Grant, and The Marilyn Newmark Memorial Grant during this upcoming October deadline.

50th Annual Gasparilla Festival of the Arts
The Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is recognized as one of the top-rated outdoor fine art festivals in the country. Each year, over 235 artists are selected through a juried process to exhibit their work for art enthusiasts and vie for $76,500 in award money, including the $15,000 Raymond James Best of Show Award and an additional 38 awards. The Festival is free to the public and attracts an estimated 75,000 visitors.

5th Annual Figures & Faces Art Competition
Fusion Art invites submissions for an online exhibition during the month of October 2019. For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography depicting the human form - both figures and faces. The artwork can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and all artists and photographers, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best representational and/or nonrepresentational art and photography.

Portrait ’19 | SE Center for Photography Exhibition
A portrait sounds like a relatively straightforward thing — a picture of someone — but across time it has proven to be much more elusive. For any rule you might devise to define a portrait, there is always a bona fide portrait that defies that rule. At a certain point, portraiture seems to be less of a genre than a blurry constellation of suggested guidelines, or even just something you have to see to recognize. That's when it's time to stop theorizing and start looking for the best in contemporary portraiture.

2020 Embracing Our Differences International Art Exhibit Celebrating Diversity
Since 2004, Embracing Our Differences has used the power of art and prose to promote diversity. The centerpiece of Embracing Our Differences is an outdoor juried art exhibit featuring 50 billboard size images (12.5 feet by 16 feet). The display reflects the artists' interpretations of the theme "enriching lives through diversity." The exhibit is displayed annually at Bayfront Park in downtown Sarasota. The 2019 exhibit hosted 218,000 visitors to Bayfront Park, bringing total attendance, since 2004, to more than 2,920,000.

It’s Still Political – Call for Art

Make.Shift Gallery Now Accepting 2020 Proposals
Make.Shift Gallery is now accepting proposals for solo and group shows in 2020. Art shows typically hang for one month. Opening receptions take place during Art Walk, the first Friday of the month from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The gallery is comprised of an entry room and a larger main gallery, totaling approximately 105 linear feet of wall space.

Jan van Eyck Academie | Call for Applications
As a post-academic, multidisciplinary institute, the Jan van Eyck Academie provides its participants with the time, space and expertise needed to develop their artistic practice in depth. Fall Residency 2019 I Arts Letters & Numbers I Upstate NY
Arts Letters & Numbers is a place of creative urgency, a place to create new linkages and pathways of understanding in an interdisciplinary environment. It is a place where people come together to co-construct questions and works, of empathy, of ethics, of imagination.
The Residency is a space for individuals or groups to create new works while developing meaningful relationships with other artists. We welcome artists and thinkers from all disciplines to explore their practice and give them the opportunity to initiate discussions, solo or group exhibitions, performances, film screenings, or workshops.

Ceramic Artist Exchange – Tandem 2020
Since 2013, the “Stadttöpferei”, based in the historical city center of Neumünster, northern Germany has offered the opportunity for young artists to live, work and exhibit at the residency house free of rent. The program is run by the Dr. Hans Hoch Foundation as a place for art and artists for contemporary advanced ceramic art. This residency program is focused on dialog on contemporary positions of advanced ceramic art, intercultural exchange, as well as experiments with materials and audience.

Camargo Foundation Residency
Artists working in all disciplines are welcome to apply to the Camargo Foundation’s Core Program residency, which comes with a $250 weekly stipend, work space, and living space, available for families or collaborations. The Camargo Core Program consists of fellowship residencies that span 6 to 11 weeks.

Call for 2020 Bresler Resident Artists
In honor of VisArts patrons, Fleur and Charles Bresler, VisArts invites applications and proposals from local, national, and international artists for a four month residency at VisArts at Rockville. This residency provides a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual artist or collaborative artist team to create a new body of work, evolve an existing body of work or develop a project in a stimulating, supportive environment. Studio space is provided free of charge.

DATES: Available dates as follows: January 13 - May 13, 2020, May 15 – September 11, 2020, aand September 13, 2020 - January 10, 2021

International Residency Open Call
The New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization committed to supporting artists and curators on an international level as well engaging the local community in Brooklyn and the Greater New York area.
NARS provides an array of creative support services and professional development opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists through short-term integrated residency programs, progressive exhibition programs, international exchanges, and engaging public programs that foster global understanding and dynamic cross-cultural dialogues.
WHO: The program is open to visual artists with an active professional practice of at least five years.
DATES: Season I (January - March) and Season II (April - June), 2020.
LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York
DEADLINE: October 14th, 2019
FINE PRINT: NARS subsidizes the cost of the three-month residency for all US-based applicants through Partial Fellowships. Partial fellowships ($4800) subsidize the cost of the three-month residency ($6600). Partial Fellowship recipients are responsible for a program fee of $1,800 which can be paid in monthly installments. The studio is a workspace only. Artists who need additional funding and support for partial fellowships, travel, materials, and accommodations should apply to other sources.
The Starry Night Winter 2019/Spring 2020 Artist Residency
The Starry Night Residency Program provides artists, writers, and curators with the opportunity to live and work as part of a small, creative community. The primary goal of the program is to support self-directed creatives and researchers in the production of new work while offering an environment that promotes self-reflection and experimentation. We believe that the quiet, rustic environment of southern New Mexico is the perfect place for such endeavors.
WHO: Visual artists, writers, filmmakers, and arts administrators
DATES: May through September and January through March
LOCATION: T or C, New Mexico
DEADLINE: October 15, 2019
FINE PRINT: Residencies are a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 8 weeks. The residency includes a private, fully furnished apartment with private bathroom and kitchen, shared studio space, and courtyard with gardens, barbecue, and campfire area. There is no application fee. The cost to the artist, with a minimum stay of one week, is $900 per week. Learn more here.
Artist Residency at Main Street Arts
Main Street Arts is accepting applications for our residency program! Artists in residence have 24-hour access to a large studio on our second floor. Facilities include 200 sq. ft. studio spaces, an electric kiln, potters wheel, etching press, and more. As a contemporary art gallery in Clifton Springs, we are uniquely situated in Upstate New York. We offer access to galleries, museums, and art communities in nearby Rochester and Syracuse while providing quiet time and space to focus on your artistic practice.
