CERF+ COVID-19 Relief Grant: Cycle II
CERF+ is launching the COVID-19 Relief Grant program to provide financial assistance to professional artists working in craft disciplines who are facing dire circumstances from the COVID-19 crisis. As part of CERF+’s broader COVID-19 crisis response strategies, this special program will provide one-time grants to meet urgent food, housing and/or health insecurities.

Wachtmeister Award
The Wachtmeister Award is presented every two years in rotation to a prominent writer, visual artist, or composer whose significant achievement in the arts is widely recognized. This award acknowledges the vital role of the arts in our world, the importance of artists who exemplify excellence in their field, and the necessity of time and space for the creative phase of all artistic work.

John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowships
The Foundation offers Fellowships to further the development of scholars and artists by assisting them to engage in research in any field of knowledge and creation in any of the arts, under the freest possible conditions.

Artists' Fellowship, Inc.
The Artists’ Fellowship provides emergency aid to professional fine artists and their families in times of sickness, natural disaster, bereavement or unexpected extreme hardship.
WHO: Professional artists in the U.S.
AMOUNT: TBD
DEADLINE: Meeting monthly from September to June, the Board of Trustees reviews all applications to determine if they have been properly submitted and if they are eligible. Applicants are encouraged to submit early in the month.
FINE PRINT: “Professional” is defined as those visual artists who make their livelihood through sales as reported on a Schedule C with a U.S. Federal tax return. An active exhibition history is also an important part of documenting “professional.” Learn more here.

Wales Contemporary
Supported by the Welsh Government, Wales Contemporary / Cymru Gyfoes is the first art competition dedicated to everything Welsh. Wales Contemporary celebrates all aspects of the country by inviting artists to submit work that is inspired by Wales, its people, its history, its landscape and its contemporary culture. Artists can win £12,000 in cash prizes and show their work in an exhibition at OXO Tower, in central London, and The Waterfront Galleries, Milford Haven.
WHO: The competition is open to all artists aged 18 and over based in the UK or internationally.

The Portrait
SE Center for Photography invites photographers to apply for their juried exhibition “The Portrait”. We use portraits as objects of remembrance and reverence, of seduction and glorification. Earth
ZEST Hall is a virtual gallery hosted by Round Lemon. We aim to contribute even more to the cultural life by organizing an exhibition once every three months. Every show will last for 12 weeks. First Street Gallery announces a unique exhibition opportunity, “9 for 19” held in our Chelsea Gallery. Volume 13 Open Call - Publication Opportunity for Emerging Artists
Apply to have your work considered to be published in Volume 13. FOA is a platform dedicated to elevating the work of emerging artists and bridging the gap between artists and the art world.

Lower East Side Printshop, NY, offers emerging artists FREE year-long studio residencies to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Printmaking facilities are available for intaglio, relief, monotype, water-based screenprinting, digital processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand.

Artist in the Community Artist-in-Residence
The Currier Museum of Art invites applications for our new social practice artist residency, Artists in the Community, for a residency period beginning in late winter/early spring 2021. The residency program is central to the Currier Museum’s mission of connecting audiences with art and creative thinking. Artists in the Community deepens this mission through an open call to social practice artists who share the goal of impacting people through the transformative power of art.
WHO: Artists and small collectives (no more than 3 people) working in any media are eligible to apply.

FINE PRINT: Applicants must demonstrate a history of social engagement in their artmaking practice and production. Successful applicants will develop an innovative project with tangible outcomes that align with the tenets of their own practice, the mission of the museum, and the needs of the community partner(s) with whom they will collaborate. Monson Arts Winter/Spring 2021 Residency
Monson Arts’ residency program supports emerging and established artists and writers by providing them time and space to devote to their creative practices. During each of our 2-week and 4-week programs throughout the year, a cohort of roughly 5 artists and 5 writers are invited to immerse themselves in small-town life at the edge of Maine’s North Woods and focus intensely on their work within a creative and inspiring environment.
WHO: Open to anyone at any stage of their career, working in visual arts, writing, and related fields (i.e. audio, video, photography)
DATES: January 31 - February 26, 2021; February 28 - March 26, 2021; or March 28 - April 9, 2021 (2-week session)
LOCATION: Monson, ME
DEADLINE: September 15, 2020
FINE PRINT: Residents receive studio space, housing, all meals, and $1,000 stipend ($500 for 2-week residencies). Due to safety protocols in place to continue residencies during the COVID-19 pandemic, program dates may change by one or two days. Hambidge Residencies
The oldest residency program in the Southeast, Hambidge provides a self-directed program that honors the creative process and trusts individuals to know what they need to cultivate their talent, whether it’s to work and produce, to think, to experiment or to rejuvenate. Residents’ time is their own; there are no workshops, critiques, nor required activities.

LOCATION: Rabun Gap, GA
DEADLINE: September 15, 2020
FINE PRINT: Hambidge offers several merit-based Distinguished Fellowships which remove the fees for a two-week residency and provide a $700 stipend. Each resident is given their own private studio which provides work and living space with a bathroom and full kitchen. Learn more here.
