The Dexter Jones Award 

Open to sculptors with an outstanding work of sculpture in bas-relief. The use of figurative or realist sculpture or sculpture that is inspired by nature, is of greatest interest.

Eligibility: Applicants must have been born between 1982 – 2003. Applicants must be citizens of or residents in the United States with a social security number.

NYSCA/NYFA Artists with Disabilities Grant

The NYSCA/NYFA Artists with Disabilities Grant program will distribute cash grants of $1,000 to artists with a disability who have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis to cover art related expenses. The grant will be open to visual, media, music, performing, literary, and multidisciplinary artists who live in New York State outside of the five boroughs of NYC. Applicants must identify as disabled and be 21 years of age or older.

Illuminations Grant

Queer | Art’s Illuminations Grant for early-career Black trans women visual artists supports visual artists who are self-identified Black trans women and trans femmes. Winning artists will receive a $10,000 grant as well as additional professional development resources and further guidance to bolster their creative development in the field.

Creativity Pioneers Fund

The Creativity Pioneers Fund is a collective effort by partners and donors believing in the transforming power of creativity and in the need of using a new philanthropic approach to social change. Leveraging the creative ecosystem of partners and stakeholders, the Fund aims at offering a variety of opportunities for learning and development for its participants/recipients. The Creativity Pioneers Fund is pleased to welcome BIC Corporate Foundation as the first Global Anchor partner.

The HMS Visiting Artists Fellowship

The HMS Visiting Artists Fellowship is a new initiative at Palm Beach State College made possible by a generous grant from the Helen M Salzberg family. The fellowship aims to provide support for contemporary visual artists in Palm Beach County and works collaboratively with the Studio Art Program at Palm Beach State College.
The HMS Visiting Artists Fellowship will provide an endowment of $6,000 to one selected artist per year and facilitate exhibition and mentoring opportunities for this Visiting Artist. Selected artists will be responsible for fulfilling the following obligations:
· Selected artists will agree to donate one work or a limited-edition original print to the HMS Fine Arts Study Art Collection.
· Selected artists must make a lecture presentation for a student group and/or a community engagement workshop on or off campus. Additional funds of $1,000 per event for the facilitation of either a lecture presentation and/or community engagement workshop will be provided.
· Selected artists will be expected to make themselves available for mentorship opportunities on or off campus with the HMS Student Arts Mentorship recipients totaling 50-100 hours.
· Selected artists must write a year-end fellowship summary of their activities for presentation to the HMS Visiting Artists Fellowship Committee.
· Selected artists will agree to participate in a Biennale at the HMS Fine Arts Gallery.

The Lynn Shelton “Of A Certain Age” Grant

The Lynn Shelton “Of A Certain Age” Grant is a project-based award that provides $20,000 to an individual woman, non-binary, and/or transgender U.S. filmmaker, age 39 or older, who is working on their first narrative feature (65 minutes or over) as a director. This grant seeks to recognize a film director for their distinct vision, storytelling, and singularity.

Manhattan Arts Grants

LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants have supported Manhattan-based artists, arts groups, and community-focused organizations in sharing rich arts activities with the public. These grants are worth up to $10,000 for presentations that respond to the current needs of our local communities and amplify the cultural breadth and identity of our city.

Peter Capell Award 

Arts Midwest's Peter Capell Award for Midwestern Creativity & Entrepreneurship celebrates Midwesterners in the creative sector whose work demonstrates entrepreneurial thinking and business acumen. The award recipient receives a $2,500 unrestricted cash award.

Artist Trust GAP Awards

2022 Grants for Artists’ Progress (GAP) Awards are unrestricted project-based grants of $1,500 for artists working in all disciplines across Washington State who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), and/or residing outside King County.

Take Notice Fund

The National Performance Network's Take Notice Fund provides $5,000 project grants to artists of color living and working in Louisiana. Grant funds are unrestricted and intended to support an artist's creative practice and/or well-being. The application process is open to all BIPOC artists/collectives and culture bearers, at any career state, who are primary residents of the state of Louisiana. Eligible disciplines include dance, music, theater/performance art/spoken word, film/media, literature, visual arts, etc.

ARTADIA AWARDS

The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure, and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Each year, an open-call application is made available in each of the six active partner cities (LA, Chicago, New York, Louisville, San Francisco, New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston). Supporting artists equitably is a critical part of the Artadia Award process: we consider the unique populations of each community and are proud to reflect our country’s diversity with an Awardee pool that is over 50 percent female and over 40 percent persons of color.

Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

 Created in 1993 to further FCA's mission to encourage, sponsor, and promote work of a contemporary, experimental nature, Emergency Grants provide urgent funding for visual and performing artists who:

  •  Have sudden, unanticipated opportunities to present their work to the public when there is insufficient time to seek other sources of funding

  •  Incur unexpected or unbudgeted expenses for projects close to completion with committed exhibition or performance dates

 Emergency Grants is the only active, multi-disciplinary program that offers immediate assistance of this kind to artists living and working anywhere in the United States, for projects occurring in the U.S. and abroad. Each month FCA receives an average of 95 Emergency Grant applications and makes approximately 12-15 grants. Grants range in amount from $500 to $3,000, and the average grant is now $1,700.

Awesome Foundation Grant

A micro-granting organization, funding “awesome” ideas, The Awesome Foundation set up local chapters around the world to provide rolling grants of $1000 to “awesome projects.” Each chapter defines what is “awesome” for their local community, but most include arts initiatives and public or social practice art projects.

DEADLINE: Ongoing—monthly grants offered.

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant

 The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging figurative artists, as well as one of the most substantial. It is one of the longest-standing foundations, with an illustrious history of recipients spanning more than half a century. It is also unique in its scope, in that it is available to students and artists around the world.

DEADLINE: Ongoing

WHO: Young artists pursuing their studies or in the early or developmental stage of their career. 

AMOUNT: First grants are in the amount of CAD $15,000 each, and subsequent grants are in the amount of CAD $18,000 each (maximum three grants).

FINE PRINT: The Foundation does not provide funding for the pursuit of abstract or non-objective art. Grants are intended to assist applicants in the study or practice of their art, and the costs associated therewith, such as tuition, studio rental, model fees, travel, and living expenses. Eligible courses of study or training include undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate studies and diploma programs from accredited institutions, recognized residencies, apprenticeships/internships, and studio training. Grants are not intended as work or project grants for more experienced or mature artists.

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant

The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical needs.

WHO: Artists who can demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of his or their work. Painters, printmakers, sculptors.

AMOUNT: The maximum amount of this grant is $15,000; an award of $5,000 is typical.

The Arts and Culture Leaders of Color Emergency Fund is intended to help those pursuing careers as artists or arts administrators whose income has been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund is for those who self-identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color). If you fit this description and you are in need of short-term, immediate financial assistance – we would like to help.

CREEKSIDE ARTS Residency

CREEKSIDE ARTS is an Artist-in-Residency Program that is a unique opportunity to reflect, create and explore in an inspiring setting among the Redwoods of Northern California. Preference will be given to applications that demonstrate a project focus on what is dear to our community: Land, place, community, nature, climate, education, and social and political consciousness..

We provide an inspiring natural setting among the coastal redwoods of Northern California for individuals as well as collaborative artistic work and expression. We welcome artists from a broad range of creative disciplines. We provide a unique opportunity to reflect, create and explore away from the hectic demands and constraints of daily life.

La Macina di San Cresci Residency

Live and work in the shadow of the oldest church in all of Chianti, built in the 10th century, painstakingly restored by two lifelong art lovers skilled in design and architecture.

At La Macina, artists can find whatever sort of process they need; we have a thriving and close-knit community made up of visiting artists and local friends, but there is plenty of peace and quiet for those who seek relaxation and escape. Residents can take classes in fresco, watercolor, Florentine artisanal upholstery, paper decoration, and more. Artists will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas on outings to local sites with cultural and historical significance. We are happy to arrange other activities, like Italian language lessons and cooking classes.

BROTA Residency

BROTA invites artists from all over the world to create in dialogue with the cosmopolitan and dynamic city of Buenos Aires in Argentina. BROTA residency dedicates particular attention to projects exploring the interplay of nature and urban environment, within the Anthropocene the current geological epoch of extensive human modification of ecological and geological processes. The word combines the root “anthropo”, meaning “human” with the root “-cene”, the standard suffix for “epoch” in geologic time.

“BROTA” means -sprout- which is one of our residency objectives: see emerge, develop and thrive artist’s work and projects that can be part of this unique and enriching experience. The selection of the artists will be based on the artistic quality of their work, their motivation and their potential to make the most of the opportunity offered by the residency. The open call is all year round and English, Spanish and French language is spoken.

L’AiR Arts residency

L’AiR Arts residency program grounds its commitment to the contemporary arts from a historical perspective. Located in Montparnasse, known as a historic hub for international artists during the 20th century Ecole de Paris period, our residency program is dedicated to the historical legacy of this prolific period of intercultural and artistic exchange.

​In 2021, L’AiR Arts has initiated a cultural heritage project of preserving and restoring the last atelier of the prominent artist's community of Cité Falguière. Following the extensive research and restoration program, the Atelier is scheduled to reopen in 2022 as an International Arts Research Residency – keeping its original purpose and the name, Atelier 11. A new emblematic home for L’AiR Arts, the Atelier 11 residency will welcome local and international professionals for solo and duo projects, that will run parallel to international group programs, partner residencies, and events open to a broader community.

Seto Ceramics and Glass Art​ Exchange Program

This program supports ceramic and glass artists from all over the world in order to exchange ideas with local artists, which will bring new different perspectives to Seto City with more than 1000 years of ceramic history. This program also intends to encourage Seto citizens to encounter different forms of artistic expression through the art and cultural activities. We welcome the artists who have a strong desire to build new rapport with Seto citizens and interact with Japanese artist through creating new artworks together.

Quinn Emanuel Artist-in-Residence

This residency is open to emerging and mid-career artists working in all disciplines across Greater Los Angeles. For four months the artist-in-residence will be given a studio in the Quinn Emanuel Los Angeles office to support their existing practice or a new project as appropriate.

At the end of the residency an exhibition will be held to display the works of the artist and at least one work will be incorporated into the permanent collection. A supporting stipend will be provided, as well as materials allowance. Over the course of a year there will be 2 residencies, each with a four month residency and a subsequent exhibition in a location deemed appropriate for the work decided on between the artist and curator.

A to Z Wineworks Artist in Residence 2022 - 2023

A to Z Wineworks, located at their REX HILL property in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, seeks an Artist in Residence for Fall 2022 – Fall 2023.
The A to Z Artist in Residence program is a fifteen-month immersion in the natural cycle of a vintage from grapes to glass. The Artist in Residence will first work the 2022 vintage harvest as a paid intern, working alongside our seasonal harvest crew and year-round winemaking and production staff. Following the conclusion of harvest, the Artist in Residence will receive support from A to Z and access to staff and properties for a year of artistic reflection and creation. During the residency’s second harvest, time is split between winery harvest and artistic work. The residency concludes with a public showcase of some of the year’s work through a gallery showing, lecture, reading or performance.

The Glitch- Online Art Residency

A six-week thematic program with a range of three to five participants, providing a space to exchange and cooperation between international artists and agents of the cultural field. The residency focuses on a specific theme (THE GLITCH) and promotes research and artistic development around it, but it is not necessary to have a work in progress or a line of research previously related to it. The topic and its theoretical and visual framework aim to invite the participants to a certain atmosphere and proposal, but with total freedom.

Residents are encouraged to participate actively, interacting with the fellows, researching, experimenting in their creative process, being open to artist talks, open studios and group proposals. An outcome and final presentation are required, as well as sharing the process and development of the work on a weekly basis.

Fluent English is necessary for a complete experience.

Golden Foundation Artist Residency

With a greater array of materials available to artists than ever before, this is an exciting time in art history. The Golden Foundation Residency Program is specifically designed to assist professional artist in discovering and exploring the many materials and technologies available today. Through the Golden Foundation, residents will have the unparalleled opportunity to work with dozens of unique materials and technologies.

In 2012 the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts opened its doors to a one-of a-kind artist residency for artists working in paint. In the beautiful rolling hills of central New York and just several hundred yards from the Golden Artist Colors manufacturing facility, a 19th century barn has been transformed into a 21st century artist residency, with large studio spaces and private residency apartments. Artists-in-residence will participate in a completely unique opportunity to explore the widest, most innovative range of materials and technology available today for professional artists working with paint.

Moroccan Sahara Retreat

Cafe Tissardmine is situated in a remote village in the Moroccan Sahara. We recognize the need for artists to recharge, share ideas, be inspired and to find a place to breathe. We run 7 residencies per year for a maximum of nine artists with this idea in mind. The residency is not project-based or requiring specific engagement or outcome but it is a place to find peace and new ideas. Artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply. As we are so remote we cannot offer internet access on a daily basis, but a walk up to “internet hill” or trip into town is possible to catch up on emails.

A Residency at Cafe Tissardmine is also an opportunity to discover the richness of the Berber culture; their way of life, cooking and crafts.

The cost of the residency covers full board, accommodation, and some transportation.

Silence Awareness Existence Thematic residency program in Finland

Thematic residency program in Finland for artists, writers, and creative minds attuned to the theme. 
The program brings together creative individuals from different backgrounds. Artistic, scientific, meditative, and existentialistic approaches are all equally embraced. 



Taking place at the heart of the Northern winter, the conditions are excellent for creative contemplation, solitary introspection, concentrating intensively on your work, thinking, and being, as well as for sharing experiences and ideas with other, similarly oriented minds. There is no pressure to have a concrete productive outcome, in case your focus is more in inner development, self-reflection, and research. All participation in group activities is voluntary.

Founded in 2019 in Oravisalo, Rääkkylä, North Karelia, Finland. Hakoniemi residency is a peaceful and inspiring working environment, located and inspired by the beautiful lake-side nature of the Northern Saimaa archipelago. We would like to offer a residency place for sustainable work plans of different kinds, and interest to the natural environment. MYTH

The Inbreak Residency

The Inbreak Residency is a virtual co-learning and making environment that promotes a collective exploration of the intersections of art, faith, and race in the United States. Casa na Ilha Residency

Casa na Ilha is a retreat space to devote time and focus to your creative pursuits in an ecological paradise. Artists can intensely dedicate to their work in progress or develop new projects. The main goal is that artists are able to focus on their ideas and projects, enhancing creativity and inspiration and connect, between them, the local community and nature.

Artists work on a self-directed residency: you will have uninterrupted, self-directed work time. There will be no pressure for you to deliver finished work; you can focus solely on research and development of ideas. However, during your stay there will be a tutor on location 24/7 to discuss ideas, projects and progress of work during the duration of the residency time, respecting artists pace and direction. There is not a set program or itinerary for artists to follow, sessions and tutor advice and support will be approached personally case by case around artists self-directed practices.

Mono Lisboa

The residency at mono welcomes applications from artists in a variety of media for a duration of two months.

Bascom Education Fellowship 

The Bascom offers disciplined artists and educators opportunities to take on significant responsibilities that further themselves as art professionals. Zepter International is pleased to announce 18th design competition ARTZEPT for 2021 entitled LIGHT & OPTIMISM, for the conceptual solution and making of a sculptural shape with light effects intended for the exterior – a garden, which creates a modern and sculptural illuminated design. A selection of the sculptural forms will be on display outside the new, soon-to-be-opened Zepter Art House. The contestants are expected to propose a visual solution for illuminated sculptures, for a maximum height of 3,5 m, technically feasible in a wide range of modern, durable and weather-proof materials.

It is required that the entries are done as 3D creations presented in one of the customary ways such as a drawing, photography, photomontage, a digital simulation or similar, accompanied by a suitable text description.

Key Colours International Competition 2022

 Clavis Publishing and the city of Hasselt launch the 14th edition of Key Colours, the two-yearly international contest for illustrators of children’s books. Only a children’s book, intended for children from 2 to 7 years old, can qualify for the award. A professional jury will judge the artistic, literary, and child-oriented qualities of the works.

The text must be sent in the original language. If the original language is not the Dutch, French, English, or German language, a translation in one of those four languages should be added.

The Other Art Fair Dallas

Connecting artists with art lovers worldwide, submissions for ART360 Ed. 4 are now OPEN. Deadline for submissions is 31st July or earlier if maximum 200 entries are received. Photography — People + Place Exhibition

The Robert T. Wright Gallery at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois is taking submissions for a group photography exhibition titled, People and Place. Five to six artists will be selected for this show held November 22 - December 17, 2022. Each artist will show 8-12 pieces depending on the size of work. On June 24, 2022, the supreme court overturned Roe v. Wade and limited access to safe healthcare across the country. They call us murderers for making the hard choice of protecting our bodies and futures. The Queen - 2022

In her obituary statement by BBC, Queen Elizabeth II is referred to as "the one constant point in a rapidly changing world", and we could not agree more. During her 70 years of ruling the United Kingdom, she witnessed substantial social and political changes around the world, such as WWII, the fall of the Berlin wall, the European Union, and the Covid Pandemy, and remained intact.

To carve her reign, life and passing in human history through art, Biafarin invites artists, working in any medium, from anywhere in the world, to share their artistic interpretation. The submission and selection are totally free of charge, and selected artists will be showcased in an international online group exhibition, followed by the exhibition catalogue and promotions.

2023 Winter Park Paint Out

The Winter Park Paint Out is one of the oldest plein air festivals in the state of Florida. During its 14 year history, 90 different artists have created over 3500 original paintings capturing the beauty and charm of our unique Central Florida community. Of those paintings, approximately 1250 have been purchased by our patrons, sponsors and supporters for a cumulative sales total of approximately $1,000,000.

The Winter Park Paint Out is a JURIED entry event. We encourage all plein air artists to apply and welcome both local, out-of-state, and international participants. Select artists from the 2022 Paint Out will be asked to return based on their number of sales. The remaining spaces are open to any other artists wishing to return in 2023 or to participate for the first time. To be considered for one of these open positions, please complete our online application. There is no application fee.

Smack Mellon Solo Exhibition Proposals

Not sure if you want to apply through a third party, Art Guide is the free artist opportunity site for you. This call for entries website allows you to apply directly to the organization offering the grant. The list is updated daily so there'll always be a great new opportunity to pursue.

Formerly Artist Opportunity Monthly, all you need to do is sign up with your email and they send you thoroughly screened opportunities every month, including grants. AOM prides itself on ensuring each opportunity is worthwhile. A more comprehensive monthly list is offered at $5 a year.

ArtDeadline.com

Another site you may have heard of is ArtDeadline.com. According to their website, it is “the largest and most respected source for artists seeking income and exhibition opportunities.” The site may cost you a subscription fee of $20 a year to view the majority of its opportunities, but you can still browse many grants listed for free on their homepage and the @ArtDeadline Twitter account.

Curator Space

CuratorSpace is a project management toolkit for curators, organizers, galleries, and artists. It is designed to take the hassle out of managing exhibitions, competitions, fairs, and a whole lot more. Plus, they are a great site for finding art opportunities worldwide!

Re-title is a service for professional contemporary artists searching for opportunities, such as competitions, exhibitions, residencies, etc. A site for international contemporary art, this is another great site to find opportunities around the world! There’s even a map you can click on to search opportunities regionally and world clocks at the top of their site so you can submit applications on time!

Resartis.org

Res Artist is a Worldwide Network of Arts Residencies from around the globe. The network comprises more than 700 vetted members in over 85 countries. They aim to support and connect residencies, engage and advocate the importance of residencies in today’s society by providing artists with resources and upcoming residency information. 

Art Rabbit 

Art Rabbit compiles a selection of international open calls and opportunities for contemporary art-related competitions, prizes, exhibitions, awards, proposals, and grants for artists, writers, and curators. They publish a selection of open calls from a pool of submissions and editorial research. Only open calls believed to offer meaningful benefits to applicants at different stages of their careers are published.

Creative Capital
