Kinetic Sculpture (James and Margaret)

Dr. Syndor's Sculpture, inspired by the work of George Rickey, and was created much like the stabiles of Alexander Calder. Unlike a mobile, which aims to display continuous movement, a stabile shows the capacity of an object to return to equilibrium or to its original position after it has been displaced. The two wings of the sculpture are made of light weight aluminum, designed to catch wind. They are designed to glide past each other without colliding with the help of special iron bearings.

Although given the title "Kinetic Sculpture", for its quality of movement, the parallel and independent movement of two wings gave rise to unofficial name "Margaret and James" after the Westminster Canterbury couple.
